Mission

The One Foundation provides rapid, dignified emergency support to single mothers with one child during moments of financial or housing crisis.

What The One Foundation does

  • Keeps lights on

  • Covers emergency hotel nights

  • Delivers essential baby/child items

  • Feeds a mother when she has missed meals sacrificing for her child

  • Provides reasonable short-term relief, not long-term dependency

What The One Foundation does not do

  • Provide ongoing monthly support

  • Require complex applications

  • Impose shame or judgement 

This is relief, not rescue.

I was once a teenage, single mom with one child who struggled. I promised myself I’d never struggle again and, over the years, I have worked to create a life so that I wouldn’t ever have to again. And now, I want to help The One.

I am quietly piloting a small emergency fund for moms who need one moment of relief and would love your support.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Single moms with one (1) child living in either Martinsville, VA or Raleigh, NC.

  • During the pilot phase, individuals are referral-based only (schools, churches, trusted contacts, community partners). If you are a daycare, church, school or individual working with demographics of someone who may need relief and you’d like to partner, please fill out the partnership form on this page.

  • Funds are held in an account and are used as needed to provide temporary, emergency support to a mother in need

  • The One Foundation is currently operating as a pilot fund and is not yet a registered 501(c)(3) organization, so contributions are not tax-deductible at this time.

  • We anticipate the pilot program to last 6 months. In that time, we will be able to evaluate the value of the Foundation and whether it’s sustainable

  • Eventually, yes. For now, we are staying sacred and sustainable. We want to test things in this initial Pilot phase. Stay in touch for future volunteering opportunities.

  • Absolutely. Diapers, baby wipes, hygiene products, and small donations are accepted. Please contact if you’d like a link to purchase items or an address to mail items. You may also visit Nama’s Boutique on our website to make a purchase. All money collected from any online purchase goes directly to The One Foundation.
